K-series engine/ what transmission for rear wheel drive

K-series engine/ what transmission for rear wheel drive
What gearbox can be bolted to a k-series engine in a rear wheel drive application. Hope this has been done before. Thought maybe a miata box with an adapter plate might work........Any help would be great!!!!
