I want to pick up some Weld's and slicks and see how my car will do on some slicks next spring. After talking to a bunch of you guys, it appears stock axles and transmission should hold up without any issues as long as I preload and hold the e-brake at launch.

I was thinking 15x8 with 5" backspacing on 24.5x8.5x15 slicks?

I don't want to roll my fenders is my main issue....I figured someone has to know what size wheels and tires I can run without F-ing my car up haha

 

I GOT A SET OF BOGARTS ,SLICKS AND SKINNIES WITH M&H TIRES F/S WITH PLENTY MEAT LEFT 24.5X8.5X15 PM IF INTERESTED FITS TYPE R NO PROBS

 

just put these exact specs on my car but with a 5mm spacer to clear the caliper. gonna try to get out tomorrow for some passes

 

I ran 15x8 4 inch backspacing with 24.5x8.5x15 and had no rubbing issues.

a 15x8 with a 4.5 inch backspacing will clear the calipers. As for tire size I am on 23's and no rub.
