Default B16A2 V-Tec cuttin in and out!!!!!!!

alright i know vtec is ran by oil pressure...... i just changed my oil like just under 2000 miles ago and last night i cot on it in first through 3rd and right at bout 7200 rpm the vtec cuts out then at 7600k its back then out again at 8000k redlines at 8300k....... i change my oil religiously every 5000 miles and every third change i run z-max...... and i have always used royal purple 5w30 since the day i bought my car...... now heres the kicker the owner before me (65 yr old woman) had the valves adjs at 85000 miles...... could that be my problem????? or do i have bigger problems??????
its a 1999 honda civic si w/ 182,125 miles......

plzzzzzzz...... help me ive tried everything but i just cant put my finger on this. its pissing me offf like no other....... this car is my baby and i just cant stand this ****......

Check your oil level first. If it's full, check oil pressure. If pressure drops, VTEC will disengage. Slight chance it's wiring but I doubt it. I also doubt that the valve adjustment was the problem either. I'd say if it was, you would have had problems a LONG time ago. It's been fine for 100k miles so I doubt her 85,000 mile adjustment is causing problems.

I'd suspect an oil pressure issue. Could be due to worn internals, DENT IN OIL PAN (most common), or just low oil level.
