the harness connectors will plug right in, but the distributor will not bolt onto the head

the harness connectors plug right in.. but the 2 wires on the small plug are oppostie.. When the two small connectors are plugged together the black/yellow wire matches up to the blue wire.. and visa versa..

99.9% sure it will work fine
0.01% unsure if car has been modified and the engine harness isnt stock

the car was completely bone stock before he put the the swap in.. and it was not plug and play.. plan and simple was not plug and play, we had to switch the rpm and coil wire on the small plug.. which makes me believe wires on the big plug arent plug and play either, but thats what im trying to figure out..
