Icon3 FML Overheating. Searched....

Help me this is my daily driver. Ok I'll give the details and maybe someone can shed some light. 95 civic ex 5spd, stock d16z6, no check engine light, fan works, no leaks ANYWHERE, no coolant in the oil and vice versa. Now every few days i have to add coolant or it will start overheating. At first i really didn't care but now its just annoying. The coolant is going somewhere but I have no idea where. The coolant reservoir is cracked but is the coolant coming out of it? Even if i leave the car running or drive it around and then check NOTHINGS LEAKING!! I've searched and been through numerous posts and nothing.. Some one please help me..

Have you checked the radiator itself to see if it was low? Have you replaced the thermostat?

I had a coolant leak on my old Civic on the back of the motor. It was hard to track it down because it wasn't big, but it was enough to leak and cause the radiator to get too low within a few days. But at the same time it was minor enough to where it wouldn't drip on the ground. It pretty much evaporated with the engine heat.

Yeah the radiator will get low after a couple of days. No i haven't replaced the thermostat only because when there is coolant in the car it doesn't overheat, everything's normal. Where was your coolant leak at on the back of the motor? Maybe i can check that out.

Have you pressure checked the radiator cap? Its an often overlooked problem and cheap/simple to fix.

a good way to see if your eating coolant is to check the coolant resivor as well. if it keeps going dry then you are using coolant somewhere.

Mine was a bad O-ring on the coolant pipe that runs underneath the IM going from the t-stat housing to the water pump.

There is an O-ring on both sides.
