Hi guys, I need some help with installing my struts and springs. I bought Koni STR.T struts/shocks and Tein S Tech springs. Yesterday when I was trying to put them on, I had a hard time getting the top hats off of the stock struts. I think it's pretty much rusted on and it won't come off.

What do I need to buy to get the struts on my 97 Integra? Here's a link to a parts diagram http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

Can you guys help me figure out which part exactly I need to get everything working? Thanks!

 

you need to cpmpress the spring and then use an allen wrench to hold the top of the strut then use a regular cresent wrench to lossen the nut.

I tried that, the top of the bolt where the allen wrench goes in is rounded off so it doesn't grip when I'm trying to loosen the nut. I have no other way of getting it off.

what about an impact gun or trying to hold the stud with some vice grips while loosening the nut. Since you arent reusing the struts who cares of you destroy them. worst case scenario just buy new top hats, thats the only reason you are disassembling the suspension anyways

 

Only problem with that is I don't know what else to buy with the top hats. Do I need anything to keep the strut from moving up and down? Do I need to buy a bushing kit?
