Recourse against shotty work?
I was just wondering what are your recourses when you get work done to your car, and it turns out to be shotty work.
I got the cowl repared on my mustang which cost several thousand dollars, and I just found out, it still leaks...
Legally, do I have to let the same guy who didn't do it right the first time, try to fix it, or can I just demand a refund?
-Thanks for any help-

you can take him directly to court.
but you might not win.
i would suggest you give him the opportunity to fix it.
also take pictures prior to letting him have it again...then take pictures after.
if its messed up again, tell him about it and if he doesnt fix it by the 3rd time, ask nicely for a refund,
and if he refuses, take him to court.

You can demand a refund but I am not sure how far that will get you.
Complain to the Better Business Bureau and inform the business that you have. They may not care. If they don't, they are probably not a particularly trustworthy business.
Document everything. Get an independent evaluation of the present problem. With this in hand, ask for the problem to be fixed. If it is still not fixed when you get it back, sue in small claims court after getting another evaluation. Small claims court will not necessarily cost you anything.
You have to decide if this is going to be worth all the time and money.
BTW, the word is 'shoddy'.
