Default Want to paint Polished Slipstreams.

Hey So I want to paint my slips streams lime green, But I'm confused on how to paint my polished slips since I want to leave the lip polished. I know that you usually tape off the polished lip so that you don't spray it, but when you sand do you try to make a perfect line? How and where would you create the boundary of the paint on the wheel and the polish lip? I saw tons of pictures of people with polished lip slipstreams.

Heres what mines look like fully polsihed.

what Im confused about is how do people paint the rim and leave the lip polished? I'm wondering this because If you tape off the lip and spray primer, paint, and clearcoat wouldn't it leave the polish lip lower then the layers of paint? Is polish a paint? or just a metal with finishing?
Also would I have to create the line on the curve of the lip? because there is no sharp edge of the wheel where I can make a fine line of the polish lip. and when I sand the Polishing down, when do I stop? Would I spray primer at all? or just straight paint and clear?

thanks for reading, any help, tips or feedback would be appreciated.

hmm. noone knows how to define, or create the line between paint and polished lip? Im just wondering what it looks like, and where the line should start on the rim.
