Assistance dismantling Racing Hart C2 Caps
What I need help in is taking off the black piece on the back of the cap with the thread on it.
I know it has tabs but they are tricky and hard to loosen to take off the part I was talking about. I was wondering if there was an easier way possibly.
The picture of the plastic piece with the tab was only removable after I had broken it. I really want to avoid cracking them all as I am not sure if the part I am trying to remove is even still available to buy still.
This is a side profile shot of the tab I need to mess with in order to loosen the whole thing from the cap

Another picture of the tab

The threading

To give an idea of it's connection to the actual cap

And then you see the rectangular peg. Well that's the tab. It kinda looks like this

are you trying to chrome your caps?
do you think the cap is held on by some type of adhesive? have you tried a little bit of heat from a heating gun to try and loosen up the adhesive? i know it may melt the plastic but a lil bit may not harm it if you use the heatgun from the top of the cap and not directly on the plastic.

Thanks though Opossum Jenkins. I was able to successfully remove what I needed.
These are the tools I bought: $6.99

The main one's that I used:

With the tool shaped like an L at the end, you want to insert it into the slot and try to get the point in back of the tab so that you could dislodge it from the grove in the cap that holds it

Upclose pic. You could see the tab pretty well here, that is because the pick is behind the tab and I am putting a little bit of pressure to pop it out.

Once it is out I used the tool with an obtuse pick and fit it under the plastic thread and pushed up to really make sure it was popped out of place.

Lastly, I used the hook tool around the edges once all 3 tabs were loose to pop the whole plastic thread cap off. You don't have to use this but I just chose to.

BAM! They're off. Now off! :D
