Default Help me solve a mystery...

Ok so i got a really weird problem. So basically from ~2.5k-4k RPM in any gear, if i put my foot on the gas pedal (whether only a little pressure or WOT) I get this sudden, rapid, random clicking noise that sounds like its coming from the gas pedal. At first i thought it was coming from in the cabin but now I'm starting to think that its on the other side of the firewall. My gas pedal makes no kind of noise when i put my foot on it when the car is off or in neutral. I have absolutely no idea what would be clicking like that, its just really weird that it does it only in that RPM range. Any ideas at all would be appreciated

Ya it wont hurt to check that, another forum suggested that it may be an axle problem...

The problem sounds kind of vague so more information could help.First of all, any CEL?I'm going to rule out that you need a valve adjustment because that clicking noise comes on only at certain rpm.But it could be a variety of things:loses bolts, rattling heat shield, bad belts or pulleys etc. etc.

Sounds to me like an exhaust sheild rattlin', as delbert said, have another person rev it and you pinpoint its location or just rev it with your hand under the hood while listening
