is it coming from around the solenoid? you can buy a new gasket and screen from the dealership for like 13 bucks, honda bond it onto the head and kiss that leak goodbye
dam you were quick with a answer, so i go to honda in scotland, ask them to fit the new gaskets or can i do it my self, its probally better if they do it , because i will prob hump it right up big time. thanks for your help, really good news for me, so it will be a cheap fix yeah.
well what motor is in ur del sol since ur in scotland because all 1993 del sols in the STATES came with single cams, and is it the d16z6 sohc vtec u have? because u might also have the b16a DOCH vtec motor that came stock on del sol outside the u.s? and if its the sohc then yeah its an easy fix and i wuld replace both gaskets (one mates the solenoid assembly to the head THREE 10mm bolts horizontally, and the other is the actual solenoid which mates on top the assembly where is uses a filtered gasket again THREE 10mm bolts mounted VERTICALLY thou) and DON'T= DO NOT USE HONDA BOND AS IT IS NOT NECESSAY NOR RECOMMENDED!!!
but if u do have the DOCH vtec motor (b16a) then it is probably ur camshaft cap seal that's leaking and its located right in front of ur (if u have the b16) vtec solenoid assembly so make sure first and CONFIRM which one is leaking!!! and with the del sols age and mileage i wuld replace both anyways will ur at it and assure urself of a quality repair.
so either ur vtec solenoid is at the rear of the valve cover (SOHC) or in the front left behind ur cam cap seal and right next to ur distributor (DOHC)
hope this helps clearify and issues u mite have...

AGAIN it is NOT RECOMMENDED NOR NECESSARY to apply Hondabond to the VTEC Solenoid mating surfaces!!!!!! How do I know because I own and daily drive my 1993 honda del sol si with 238,***miles and it's LEAK FREE
(how many people can say that with the original motor) OOOOh yeah i replaced every single seal, o-ring, and gasket with the exception of valve guide seals and piston rings. I am an ASE HONDA CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN and I have replaced spool valve gaskets numerous and countless times so I KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT!!! and I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ELSE WHERE HONDABOND SHOULD OR SHOULDN'T GO! USE where recommended and necessary not everywhere to just stop a leak that's mickey mouse ****.

hello again, thanks for your help, my engine is the b16a dohc with 73000 miles, and yeah it is leaking more from the front , camshaft cap seal, hope thats not serious is it. so i take it the best sollution is to replace all gaskets and seals, but dont use honda bond , is that correct. IS IT SERIOUS, DO I WORRY ,CAN I BE CAM, AND NOT BE SHAFTED.
MANY THAHNKS AGAIN
MANY THAHNKS AGAIN
i nevr called you clueless, i said i have met ASE tech that are. they are so stuck on the book way to do things. i never said anything against you. this is a tech forum. people ask for help, people have different experinces and tips. i gave mine and how i have had success. you gave yours. its not a matter of getting on here and making everyone look stupid or prove them wrong. i have never had any type of formal schooling in autoworks, but i have perosnally rebuilt 7 or so motors for my car. i have found out what works and what doesnt. i have also built numerous chevy small blocks and big block. there is a defference, but some techniques can be used universally. dont be so closed minded.
