Default trans question

got a few questions:

1. do i have to chop down my ls shift linkage to fit properly in my ef hatch?
2.can i put a set of gsr gears(mainshaft) in a ls casing if the casing is cable? and is it relivant if the gsr gears are cable or hydro?
3. where can i get a print out of how i can identify what gears are what by counting the teeth on them(for gsr AND b16)

1. Chop the linkage 2 3/8" of an inch. should fit right on.
2. You can swap hydro internals only into a YS1 cable case.
3. Not entirely sure, google around and see if you can download a honda service manual. deff in there.

this is where im stuck at. i need to know what everyone thinks about 2nd, 3rd, n 4th gears. which ones should i use out of these 3 transmissions i have LOL. i know b16, ls, gsr, and itr(i think) are all the same. im GOING to use ls for 5th, and the final drive is the same untill it comes to the bigger ring gear which i will be using a gsr (66 tooth count mind you) or until i can come across a type r. which does everyone think i should use for the remaining 3 gears besides 1 & 5?

Can't use GSR gears in an LS. If the gears are all mixed up, pitch them. Don't mix and match if you don't have a complete gear SET.

What he means is that if you don't know which set of countershaft and mainshaft gears were mated together... don't bother. You've rendered them useless and will cause yourself more troubles by not labeling/keeping them together.

everything is labled. b16 gears in 1 set, gsr gears in another set. MY ls gears and countershaft in 1 set. there are 2 complete gsr countershafts that ive not taken apart yet. i may mis-match the better gears/syncros out of the 2 gsr countershafts depending on their wear and tear. they look to be pretty good. hell, i may just find the better of the 2 shafts gears, have a professional examine them and then just order some carbon plated syncros for gsr's gears and 1 for the ls.
