92 LS/VTEC advice
Hey guys, I'm new to the JDM world, but everyone has to start somewhere.
I picked up a '92 LS a few weeks ago.
Getting used to driving stick and all that stuff.
Saving up money, and need some guidance on how to get started on engine work.
What do you guys suggest i work on first? I already have bolt on parts, intake/headers/exhaust and now i want to start the engine work. Any small things I can work on first? Or do I have to do the full LS/VTEC conversion all at once? Should i build my LS first? any help for this beginner would be appreciated ^^
p.s. anyone have diagrams for the relays? my power window relay went out and i cant find it.

Just buy everything you need and put it all in. Also unless you're planning on rebuilding the bottom end and having it all balanced, I would stick pretty close to the stock ls rev limit. The ls bottom end is not designed to rev as high as the vtec motors are.
so would you recommend i just get a b16 swap instead of ls/vtec? what would be the best route
dont go spending and building stuff when u dont have the funds, save up map everything out, double check then start the work, when building a ls/vtec u must do it right, alot of ls/vtecs run into problems if not built properly... no dont by a whole b16 swap, thatll be pretty lame, you should get a b20block b16a or gsr head with a b16 si tranny it rips
Id recomend you learn how to drive it first. If you just learned how to drive a stick, and all that stuff, you need to learn how to drive. I don't mean to be a ***** or a hater, but guys who are new to the scene, and just build a race car, are usually the ones to fail. If you just want a more resposive feel to your car, get a GSR tranny, a clutch, and practice on that until you feel that you can drive anything faster, then move up. that is my opinion though.
Also: the GSR tranny will feel as if you gained a ton of power. Actually, you get to power faster, thus, quicker car. My old set up was just simple I/H/E B20z with GSR tranny. 14.8 @ 93 mph

^^agree^^. Just learning how to drive the car and going out and building a more powerfull motor can be a recipe for disaster. After you learn and feel like you can control the car really well, then plan out and do research on diffrent setups. Find out what you are looking for out of the car then go forward from there.
here is a link to building a reliable ls/vtec which i found very helpful being this is the first import i ever got
