Installing spoon wing on a 96 ek hatch??

I have never done this before and never asked anyone that has one on their cars.. so ill ask you guys maybe you can help.. does the stock wing have to be removed?

open hatch, pull down plastic cover panel on the under side of hatch up above the window and the hatch hindges. then there are 4 10mm screws that hold on the stock wing.

And fitment is tight around the bottom edges with the new wing so watch your fingers
