ill be picking up another car here soon as a DD and will make my prelude my weekend/dont care about it toy. i have been looking at racing it at sebring and all the local auto x courses(many of which i have already done)
i was thinking of just taking it and stripping the inside. then picking up a cage or having LHT build me one.

i'm in the process of cleaning up my engine bay and under the dash. the interior isnt gutted completely, but all of the sound deadening material and anything "unnecessary" has been removed. including a/c, p/s, etc...here's a shitty pic:
117, thats pretty impressive! do you have anymore pics?
what kind of things do you notice differently with a stripped interior? was it faster? louder? colder in the winter?

Mine weighs 2370 without me and I know I can get at least another 50lbs out of it. This is with a cage and alot of weight that goes with running a 72mm turbo. I still got to take off things like windshield wiper engine, sway bar, CF trunk, etc...
have any pics of the interior? how much faster did your prelude feel when you gutted it?
This question tells me that you have not done your research. You can not say "I felt the power." You can gain power by losing car weight, that everyone knows, but your BUTT can not accurately tell you how much ( or any gains at all ). Therefore, don't say or ask "Did you feel a power increase?" Butt dynoing is just not accurate. A real dyno wouldn't tell you this either since your car is stationary in one location during pulls. You have to physically race your car at the drag-strip and compare times. Do your research.
Are you running any type of fuel cell? Still using the OEM bumper supports? What about wiring, the OEM dash bar, etc?
I have mine down to about 2475 to 2500 with 1/4 tank or so, w/o me in it. I'd like to drop another 100 lbs or so. I still have all the OEM glass (door glass is removed), OEM door bars, and the innner metal door panel on the passenger's side door. The driver's side metal door panel is cut to make room for the NASCAR door bars, but I still have the OEM door bars in place.
I'm thinking of trying to lighten the bumper supports F&R, remove the OEM door bars, and a few other things to lose a few pounds.

Cages are not only for drag racing homie

My EK with the C5 was about 2440 without a cage! That lude is pretty lean
like i said he is wasting his time

and not 14.5 try 15.6 lmao!
no door bars, cromoly cage, factory fuel cell (for now), full glass, center console, all trimming and carpet is still in it, (except carpet behind seat). It's a 6 point cage, gonna go to a 10 point, but when I do that, I'll put a fuel cell in it and get some other things off so I can be around 2450 with me in it.
Have you removed the door bars? What kind of cage are you running (tubing size, mounting points, extra bracing, etc)?
