Default honest opinion please

i posted a thread about my tranny probably needing to be replace and i have read multiple post about synthoms and i need help getting to the bottom of this

i need to make my car my daily driver. the car runs and idles like new but when it is put into gear it doesnt shift off the bat it makes a grinding noise (ex.. of carpentry saw type noise) and will shift roughly into gear but wont make the noise in netural or while in park but while in park the key cannot be turned to the off position to cut power i am reading in different post that the torque converter could be out so i am trying to find out how do i find out if it is and how do i go about finding a good one should i go junk yard or ebay or honda my car has the Vtec F23A1 motor in it should i get the torque converter to the f23a1 seeing since i dont know what tranny is in my car or should i get the original torque converter out of the 90 accord all help is gladly appreciated

Honestly I would take this opportunity to drop in a fresh 5 speed that you know it good

Automatics are more expensive on the retail side, although sometimes you can find them cheap at the junkyard

I say ditch the slush box....honest opinion
