Default crank sensor questions?

I have a friends car i have been working on its an 02 civic ex. The timing belt snapped and the motor blew so i picked up a 03 motor installed it and it ran fine for about 8k miles and now will crank and run for 2 seconds then turn off. I traced it down to the crank sensor being bad and was gonna try to put the 02 one back in but it has a defferent part number and still act's the same. What is the difference between the 2? Does it need to be repinned or another thought i had was to use all the sensors from 02....

So can someone help me out?
