orlando gsr owners help!!
just found out that i have a bad leak in the oil pan area on my 95 gsr, a friend told me where it was leaking from, any orlando gsr owners with reputable shops in mind help me out, or maybe just taking it to the acura dealership and get a concrete diagnosis on where the leak is coming from and getting an estimate, but anyone else with better places in mind please help I think i hit a speed bump lil too hard cuz there was no leak a week ago before the speed bump incident
Not in Orlando but you might want to have that oil leak traced. Oil leaks can come from many different places but they all look like oil pan leaks b/c the oil pan gasket is the bottom most gasket on the engine.
If you are somewhat mechanically inclined, you can get try to trace the leak yourself. Many auto parts stores like autozone carry leak detection kits. If not, take it to a mechanic. Doesn't have to be the dealership but a reputable shop at the very least.

Wash out the engine bay and below with some degreaser, Simple green, and wash it all away. Drive your vehicle normally, then check your engine everyday, if its really bad, you should be able to see signs of where it is coming from.(IE: valve cover gasket, cam seal, oil pan) doing it that way might help you find the cause in a not so timely matter, but it will end up either saving you tons of money,(finding the cause yourself), help you make you decision. Hope I was helpful.
ite got an estimate from acura dealership, they said I need a new oil pan becuase the oil pan drain bolt plug was stripped and my distributor o rings needs to be replaced, he quoted my for everything was 600.00, does this sound right? I asked him wut does the distributor o ring have to do with the leak? if this sounds legit lmk

well the oil pan is round 230 n the gasket is round 25..........i dont see the reason for the distributor o ring, so im thinking 350 max for a new oil pan and gasket install sounds bout right, or i can do it myself ne insight would help thx
I've never changed an oil pan before, but the Helms makes it look super simple. If you've got a mechanically inclined friend you might consider just buying a pan and gasket from oemacuraparts.com or the like and DIYing it. The distributor also is not hard to work on.
If you do go that route I'd make sure you
1) keep mating surfaces really clean
2) properly torque the bolts that hold on the pan
3) tighten them in the correct sequence (if there is one)
4) keep the car on jack stands while you do the work (not a floor jack)
5) consider getting an aftermarket drain plug that has a quick release tap -- this makes future oil changes super easy IMO
