Default B20 VTEC Boost

I have a b20 vtec that already has low compression pistons and I want to go back on boost. What is the best kit for anywhere from 300whp and up?

b20 = weak walls, boost will blow it up unless it is sleeved. a low pressure turbo might work for a while, but why bother.

If you build the b20 correctly, I'll say boost is okay not saying it will last forever.B20 do have weak walls and there's a post on the search form teaching you how to build a reliable b20vtec.But I think b20vtec is more suitable for high compression builds rather than boosting.

The car was originally on boost before I got it. The guy took the turbo kit off to lower the price but thats where that ends. I'm now going to take apart the motor and find out what it really has.My original plans were to go na but want to see if I can do boost. Thanks for the response's

My personal opinion is not to boost your b20vtec unless you don't care about it blowing, or it's just for laughs and giggles. But really it's your motor, your choice.Do get me wrong, b20vtec has potential but there is only a few ways to do things right and so many ways to do things wrong. Before even boosting, you have to consider the health of your motor by doing a compression and leak down test. From there, if you want a reliable b20vtec (n/a or turbo) you have to spend a lot of time researching on forums for proper builds. It is always a better idea to build a n/a or turbo b18c1 than a b20vtec.B18b1 (or any of the ls series) and B20 has weaker rod bolts not meant for high rpm.B18c1 on the other hand, has oil squirters in the block which makes it more suitable for turbo builds in comparison to b18b1(good for turbo build too because of low compression but no oil squirters and weak rod bolts.) or b20.If you did not know these basic mods in terms of building a n/a or turbo motor then stick to stock or do more research.Good luck.

Thanks for the info. I knew that the b20vtec wasn't the most ideal motor for boost but seeing as how i'm about to stop driving it and build it I wanted to see the route's to take

So I have a boosted b20v with a built head and stock bottom end. I plan to push 7 to 8psi MAX. And was just wanting opinions on it?
