IPod with Factory Stereo
Hey all,
I know that there are a bunch of solutions to play IPod via factory stereo, using the CD changer port. I recently got this:
http://www.gromaudio.com/store/ipod_...m-i2-hon1.html
However, this thing is huge. 2009 S2k has extra things in the stereo bay so I couldn't fit it in there. I had to put it above passenger's leg area. It works really well actually in terms of the functionality and the playback, but it's big and it's not tucked away.
Does anyone else have experience with other devices that works well with 2009 S2k? Other install videos and instructions that I found implied that I had more space than I saw in my car.
Thanks!
Koichi

i got a pioneer headunit with an ipod cable... i ran the cable from the back of the headunit along the side of the center console and drilled a hole in my "glove box"... the cable was $30 and the headunit was expensive but if u plan on getting rid of ur factory radio, this is the way to go... sell that thing and put it towards a new headunit...

no but modifry.com sells them... it seems like an expensive route, but it is def worth it... one of my fav mods that i have done so far...
I installed a similar box under/behind the OEM radio and had to remove the top half of the cover to make it fit. You might have to do the same thing and wrap it a few times with electrical tape if there are any components that might short out.
Honda's own Music Link, according to that web page, says it's compatible with the '07 S2000. Don't see why it wouldn't be with the '09 as well since I believe the headunits to be identical (except that the CD button says "AUX" instead of "XM" but it still toggles XM radio if you have it. I don't know anything about the Music Link device though. Looking at the install instructions for an Accord it doesn't look that big. If you google "s2000 ipod adapter" you find a lot of people happy with the USA Spec unit.

i have a blitzsafe ipod unit in both my 06 S and 02 Si. both work great. the S i had a bit of a struggle with finding enough space for it. it would not fit behind the HU so i put it in the little bit of space right below the HU. also used a panavise mount with a proclip ipod holder. keeps everything together nicely.

i would think u can dump it behind the dash on passenger side. idk, there may be enough room. I see crossovers get tossed back there a lot. albeit, they're smaller.
