i have a 97 ls motor when i rev up the engine it blows light white smoke i dont have crazy mods just a catback and intake and a blaster coil i changed the oil i havent drove it yet because im finishing up the body work and i just put the motor in. i took out the cat because it was rusted out and had a megan test pipe threw that in and dont have my 02 in yet(waiten for it to come in) but have it blocked off with a plug, will having a test pipe and no 02 sensor cause it to blow white smoke.

Does this white smoke smell like candy? Or does your oil also have a little white surprise? Have you let it warm up and run for a little while? It is possible that you're running way rish without the O2 sensor...

Well, if you don't show any of the symtoms I listed before then all i can guess is to wait until you have the o2 sensors in. Usually white smoke is a cracked block/ blown headgasket... It smells kinda like candy though if it's burning antifreeze.

Did you take the motor out or did you swap in a new one?White smoke usually means your burning coolant and you probably have a bad head gasket. Is your car throwing any codes?
