if all you want is a number in that range, why not turbo? run around untill the transmission and current motor go down in a blaze of glory, then swap, adapt the turbo to the new motor... see where i'm going?

The K24 is the better choice for the Accord; larger displacement, greater torque (which is what you need to get all that weight moving). It also lends itself better to Boost than the H22 based on it's lower compression ratio in stock configuration.

The H22 is better suited for a light chassis (Civic, TSX ect) high reving situations.

I love these threads

- brand new member
- one post
- incredibly little info on the car
- no info about budget
- nothing listed how they want to achieve something
- nothing listing if they're capable of doing the swap

etc

LOL, So true.... Never fails..
CaN i hAz 300-400Hp ToO??!!11!?

Where did this come from?
Everyone thinks the magic HP #s are 300..
I dont get it..

To the OP..
Unless you have achieved "Baller" status then id imagine its not in your best interest to put almost 10G`s in a 15y/o car.. Unless you will be fabricating your own stuff and turning your own wrenchs..

H22 is alot less complicated and cheaper..

Building a motor up to 300-400whp isn't cheap either. You gotta pay to play. Go the cheap route and you'll be losing alot more $$ than doing it right the first time. I've learned it the hard way.

The H is a great engine for the CB/CD accord being that they are lighter than the prelude...it is actually not the best engine for the civic being it puts to much weight up front for the civic and it would def. be a bad engine for the tsx because the tsx is heaveier that the accord and comes with a K24 stock

Haha, Oh I can read just fine. You just joined like a thousand other people and go "Oh hey guys I want to swap my car what can I swap in my car" then leave. It happens on an hourly basis.

You don't mention if you want to do a 5spd swap
You don't mention if you want to spend the thousands of extra dollars for the initial price of a K swap
You don't mention if you've looked into just turbo'ing or building your F22B2
You don't mention if you want to retain PS or AC
You don't mention if you're capable of doing the work yourself
You don't mention if it's a daily driver
You don't mention if you want forced induction or N/A
You don't mention your budget (we can't assume "you roll deep" as most of the idiots like yourself can't)
You don't mention what you've already looked at

What it appears to me is you:
- googled "engine swap accord"
- found some random forum saying "Yo dawg swap dat K24 in durr"
- found some other random forum saying "Yo dudeee drop in da H22 Type-S"
- joined H-T and asked your findings

So you know I'm not blowing smoke, I had a H22A swapped Accord with quite a bit of other mods done to it before I sold it. I know about budget planning, I know about mod planning, and I have been in the game longer than you have.

$50 says you're one of those Army retards that just got a sign-on bonus and wants to blow it on their hand-me-down Accord.

*edit*

And it's INCREDIBLY ****ING APPARENT you have not looked at the Accord FAQ or bothered to do a "H22 vs Turbo vs K24" search

i think the word better was used and not best.
h22 isn't that heavy. and if you get your front spring rates to compensate for the swap you'll be golden.

300hp just sounds good i guess. not too much not too little

Man muffinman, why are you so mean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I hate to admit it, but muffinman is right, we need more info as to what the plans are before we can truly give you GOOD advice. Like if you want to turbo, it would be wise to swap the 5 speed, but if you want to go n/a maybe you would like comfort and convenience of an auto. I mean the more info the better for threads like these. I mean personally? What would I do. Swap the H head on, or the F22A6 if your on a budget, and build the F22B2 bottom end and boost the sh** out of her. Not that you cant boost a great amount of the F22 bottom ends anyhow, but it wouldnt hurt to be more safe than sorry.

OP, get with the program and answer pertinent questions. If your mind is decided or closed, why ask for advice?

I KNOW. I WAS BEGINNING TO FEEL CRAZY. I KNEW I WASN'T THE ONLY ONE TO CATCH THE WHOLE H22 INTO TSX SUGGESTION EARLIER? FIRST OFF IT'S ABOUT 300 TO 500LBS HEAVIER AND ????HIGH REV SITUATIONS? IF THERES A STRONG MOTOR LIKE THE H22 THAT CAN LOGICALLY FIT IN THE ACCORD AND CREATE A HIGH REVVING SITUATION THEN I WANT IN. H22'S ARE SICK AND MAKE THE ACCORD ALL OF A SUDDEN PULL BUSLOADS.

IF I HAD TO CHOOSE AND I HAD POCKETS AS DEEP AS THIS NOOB,
I'D GO WITH THE K ALL DAY. K24A2 DOHC 2.4 LI. VTEC NOT ONLY ON INTAKE BUT ALSO ON EXHAUST! UNLIKE PRIOR VTEC. AND IT'S JUST SO SEXY.

P.S I HAVE POCKETS AS DEEP AS THE NOOB
