fuel gauge is very inaccurate?

fuel gauge is very inaccurate?
I know most honda's ive been in there have weird fuel gauges. (As in they go up and down a lot on hills/turns.) Mine is by far the worst ive seen, if im on hills or going through turns the gauge will jump around from half to empty ect. What is the deal with this?
