i got a 93 perlude and i was driving down the street when the RPM's started just jumping around and going all the way down to zero. then it just shut off driving down the street and after that if i let the gas off it would turn off, but then like two hours later it was fing

 

My car was acting similar to that when the battery was near dead (alternator wasn't charging).

 

distributor went on my car when the rpm where fluxuating then it cut off and start up again later.

 

happened to me when i had battery/alternator problems.

dont even want to think about it.

 

It could be the alternator, ignition, or fuel delivery. The worst thing about problems like that is that you have to wait until the car actually dies to really know what's wrong. Unless you can make the problem come back at your own will, then you could better diagnose it.. But good luck.. Any questions, let me know.
