Default Brake or Axle problem?

I have a 96 Accord Lx. There is a strange metal scrapping should when i was driving in the parking lot today. It was a cold day. The sound is happen when the car is in motion.

The scrapping sound also appears when the brake is not pressed.

But after driving for a while in the freeway, the sound it gone.

I wonder if it is because of the cold weather.

What are you thoughts?

just take a quick look at your brake pads...they might be right at or above the sensors

sound like your brakes are out. the sound that you are hearing from the brake indicator scraping on the brake rotors.

Either one of two conditions may exist:

You may be to the point that the "wear sensors" on the brake pads are now hitting the rotor,
OR
The dust shield which sits just behind the rotor may have bent and is now scraping against the rotor as it rotates. Or you could have trapped a stone between the dust shield and the rotor.
