I've been using Super Tech's Engine Degreaser and has not failed me. Clean and shiny afterwards.

get castrol super clean and a spray bottle, mix it 80 percent with the cleaner and 20 percent water. then add some kerosene to it. kerosene is a parts cleaner and will not harm anything under your hood. make sure to do this at a car wash so you can pressure wash it after letting it sit on the engine for 10 minutes. it will come out nice and shiny.

engine brite or simple green works, just cover up electrical stuff, battery alternator etc, and spray it down with the degreaser then water down later

what i've read in numerous posts is go to a do it yourself car wash, the kind with the stalls and power washer.

spray on simple green
let it sit for a minute then turn the car on and shut the hood and let it idle for like 2-3 minutes to dry some.
then power wash the engine and it should be good as new.

i'm gonna try it in a week or two once i get my new spark plug wires

I take it to the local DIY car wash.
let engine cool a bit.
Sprinkle some degreaser.
Then get the car brush and go to town on the engine.
Then I get the pressure washer and hit the n00ks and crannies.

I just use Simple Green, spray it on and let it sit for a bit and then hose it off with high water pressure.

most of the time its okay if you dont cover them but i would just in case. cover the distributor and ignition wires. the filter for the intake and the batter just to be safe. dont spray dirrectly on the transmission to much either
