Have a 89 civic si. Got the front bumper from a 91 on right now. It fits on there really nasty. So i got an 89 bumper with the jdm wanna be moldings and it wont fit. Could I have the wrong bumper support? Does anyone have a pic of the support for a 89? I want my bumper to fit right. LOL. help please.

 

Are the bumpers you are swapping around from Civic's or CRX's?

lol. Ill see what i can do with the pix. But basically the bumper wont go all the way in. Its like the bumper support stops it. I just want to know if i have the wrong one. Because the 91 bumper goes on no problem, with the ends not really matching up right. I just want to see a 89 bumper support and a 91 bumper support.

 

Double check and make sure the foam part is not coming free.

 

If it's a JDM bumper, are you trying to put it on with your USDM bumper support still in place?

 

No foam piece. And its the usdm front bumper. The one that has the moldings like the jdm bumper. IM thinking its the wrong bumper support. Would that be the problem?

 

Pictures would be able to solve this pretty quickly.

Well i found out that the bumper support was the problem. The 89 and 91 are different. Bought one for 25 at the junker and now my bumper sits nice. . well its a little off from both ends. Just need to switch out those plastic clips. Thanks to anyone that helped.
