I'll just say I taugh Ryan, if you see the green light you lost. Any drag racer know's you leave on the last yellow. When the stage light's are lite, you have no friends.

Saying wait for the solid green is useless, who knows what's solid green to the other guy.

This is the drag strip not some city street where you shouldn't be racing anyway's.

this was a grudge match from the street.

The "Break" was offered by Midnight Auto.. I i believe the deal was right lane got to leave "whenever" after the lights turned green. ( i guess kinda like when the flag man walks past the race cars side mirrors if you get the "break" in the street.

PS: i think $hit talking and Ego got in the way of this run. But that should have been a heads up race. (But if you offer it, why not!! it's $$$$ )

Yea, I understand that. Just doesn't make sense when you think about it. But like you said, Ego's got in the way.

Another way of looking at it, the right lane left when ever he wanted after the green. The Left lane did too, he just left a little sooner.

Ok, let me see if i can get you to understand..

"The Break" is a term used for letting someone leave first.. The left lane got the "break".
But to make it so that both cars are READY, and on the 2-step/antilag. It was arranged that the Left lane leave AFTER the green light and has 6 seconds inwhich to do so.

So the car in the Right lane has only 6 seconds max to sit there loading up the car. Granted this race the left lane didn't wait long.

Hope that clears it up.. And for the person that posted "at the track , drive like it".. Give them credit for doing the right thing and keeping it legal.

Randy (driver for the 718 car) got the boot on the first practice pass. He was told to slow down or pack it up.. He had to shut it down after the 330' on teh 2nd pass, as you can see in the video.

And well the last pass he was going home anyway.. A richer man no less. lol

look at post #15.

"cheap 1 piece nose"

basically all it is.

think hotrod class. a seemless all 1 piece front end.

street racers removing any 'space' for air to get inbetween and cause a drag. basically a home-made 1 piece setup (granted the hotrod class 1-pieces are fabbed to be lighter as well in the process, but you get the idea)

may argue it does little or close to nothing, but small tricks like that add up when it comes down to it.

Not sure about Etown, but I know further down south in NC at certain tracks, if you are running for $$$$ at the track they will not kick you out. I have personally never seen a car get kicked out of the track for going to fast with out proper cages. Not saying it is the smartest thing to do, but it is a lot safer than running on the street. Take a look at some of the more expensive sports cars they make now that are capable of running, 11's and lower with no cage. Do they kick them out at your track? Recently, Greg Biffle (Nascar driver) was on that show "Pass Time", he went low 10's on a basically stock new high dollar Mustang.

You got that right. I know some V8 guys that have done alot of street racing in their day. I heard one not to long ago say "he didnt care if his car was smoking like a freight train and he had to dump oil in the engine constantly, just to keep the engine running. As long as it wins and runs good, Im happy".........

Decent run in the vid, though......I like checking out the grudge races that are setup and $$$$/pride or on the line...It makes me realize why I like putting a little effort into my car.
