What's up fellas:

Just picked up a 99' civic si with a B20B swap. Im currently running an obd1 P75 ECU But car has like a revlimiter @ 3k rpm's. I also noticed the cluster isnt reading the mph at all. the needle's just dead or sometimes it just jumps around

PLEASE DROP IN YOUR 2 CENTS. I RECENTLY CHANGED THE ALTERNATOR BUT THATS ABOUT IT.

Fix your CEL. If you're not seeing a CEL, I'd say that you have a bad cluster or wiring, and it should be showing a CEL.

3K revlimit is classic case of limp mode due to a code.

yeah i havent plugged it into a scantool to read the codes. i'll post the codes as soon as i can.

the motor sounds healthy im sure its nothing big

well if its obd 1, you can't use a scantool. your gonna have to do the jumper method.

Focus all of your attention on getting the CEL working. You can't use a basic scan tool. You need to connect the dash CEL and then jump the service connector.

what exactly do i need 2 do? ive never done this jumper method

their should be a 2 prong connecter and a 3 prong connecter under ur glove compartment buy your ecu all you got to do is take wire i her a paper clip will work dont no for sure i use a wire anykind strip the rubber of both sides exposing the core and poke it into the 2 prong connecter (both side of the wire in each slot) your check light should start flashing
long flashes = the first number
short flashes =the second number
not very hard get the code and look it up to see the prob

Basically you have a obd1 ecu making it one of the eg(92-95) civics or the 94-95 integras(your case) and what you need to do is locate your ecu which is exactly shown in the above thread (that grey box by the passenger door) and then find that pin,unclip it apart and jumper wire it with a paper clip on wire(just take a paper clip and slide one side of the clip into one slot and the other into the next) and then turn your key into ignition mode meaning not on but to the point where you see all the lights (in cluster )
come on. then you will see that engine light figure come on,it will start blinking instead of staying continuesly on if there is a code,

to read the code you need to understand the way it works, should that engine light come on for 1 long blink thats a ten, lets say you get a 3 short other blinks(each short blink represents 1 instead of a ten this time) following that long one,in that case you would add the 3 shorts (3) with the 1 long(10) and you would have a code 13.

so if you get a 4 long blinks then 3 shorts you would have a code 43 meaning fuel supply which can be your case. but remember that you also might have several codes rather then one, such as getting 4 longs 3 shorts and then another 3 longs 2 shorts for code 32, basically keep track of all codes untill you have hit the first code again (43 in my example)

As mentioned by Vindicator, first test whether the CEL works. Turn the key to ON(II). The CEL should turn on for 2 seconds and then turn off if no codes are stored in the ECU. The CEL will remain on if codes are stored in the ECU. Does the CEL work?

The same thing happend to me. No cel, turned out my cat was clogged up. I put a different cat on there and everything cleared up. Its worth looking at, u can take the cat off or tap on it with a ruber mallet to see if everyhing rattles around in there.

This happened to me when some sensor in my distributor went bad. That may be the issue. Check the CELs.

Stop guessing and fix the CEL and pull the codes. Guessing will actually cost much more time and money than will pulling the codes. Click here.
