LS-V Build??
i have a project teg that i got for 300 from my friend and it has a ls motor in it. i wanted to go LS-V but i wanted to build the bottom before i put a stock V-TEC head on it, just so it could handle reving about 8000 without me having to worry about blowing it. Can anyone give me any ideas about what internals i should put? i appreciate any help i could get, thanks.
Yeah I was reading on LS-V conversions and it was saying I needed to change oil pump, fuel pump, water pump and timing belt to either gsr or itr but a lot of people tell me that the LS bottom can't handle high revs
no the GSR oil pump feeds more oil if im not mistaken??
the V-TEC head needs more oil than the non V-TEC LS head.
thats the whole reason why you need to do the oil tap for the LS-V conversion

You dont NEED to change your water pump but its reccommended since your already already gonna be down there changin the oil pump. Fuel pump isnt necessarily a must change either, the stock does just fine. Ls blocks can handle fairly high revs, almost everybody I know with an LS/v has stock bottom ends are they are spinning them to 8-8500 no problem. The first thing that usually goes tho is the rod bolts so if you wanna play it safe just get some of those. The stock rods and pistons are good to like 500hp so you really dont need to change those unless your goin big.

97+ oil pumps are all the same. if it is older than their is a difference. just put a 97+ oil pump in it and be done with it. also changing the water pump is a good idea. also the arp rod bolts are a must for 8k
https://honda-tech.com/forums/all-motor-naturally-aspirated-44/how-build-%22reliable%22-lsvtec-b20vtec-1676914/ probably the best one on here, but yeah rod bolts are a must and depending on your goals with this motor internals are completely up in the air. good luck
the last line is incorrect. the reason that you do the tap for ls/vtec is get the oil to the head. the ls block oil passages are not big enough to get the oil that is needed.
