Default Another Tire Size and Rim Size Question

I've searched and I found a link leading to s2ki about wheel sizes. But I want to find out if there are people who have the same rim sizes as I do and what tires sizes they're running. I tried searching, but it's difficult to find a question exactly like the one I have.

So I just picked up some BBS 17x7.5 +45

Now I am confused about which tires sizes I should get since the s2k is staggered and I've heard of people running wider tires in the rear anyways.

So which tires does Honda-Tech run for 17x7.5 +45?

Thanks for your time

depends on the look your going for and ride height.

if it was me i'd go 205/45 225/40 since i would wanna go as low as possible.

I see I see. is the rear suppose to have a lower profile size or is that just for dumping it?

According to the chart on s2ki
http://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=342793
For the front:
205 tires: +43 offset minimum (6.5 to 7.5 wide wheel)
215 tires: +48 offset minimum (7.0 to 8.0 wide wheel)
225 tires: +53 offset minimum (7.0 to 8.0 wide wheel)
235 tires: +58 offset minimum (7.5 to 8.5 wide wheel)
245 tires: +63 offset minimum (7.5 to 8.5 wide wheel)

For the rear:
235 tires: +40 offset minimum (7.5 to 8.5 wide wheel)
245 tires: +45 offset minimum (7.5 to 9.0 wide wheel)
255 tires: +50 offset minimum (8.0 to 9.5 wide wheel)
265 tires: +55 offset minimum (8.5 to 9.5 wide wheel)
275 tires: +60 offset minimum (9.0 to 10.0 wide wheel)
285 tires: +65 offset minimum (9.0 to 10.0 wide wheel)

Would it be all right to run 205/45 in the front and 235/45 for the rear?
Being 17x7.5 +45 it's not staggered. so is it really all right to run wider tires on the rear rims?

So you've got 4 x 17x7.5 +45?
I'm not sure about the front, but you might be able to run the OEM AP2 tire size of 215/45-17 F and 245/40-17 R, but with those sizes the front (according to Tirerack) usually calls for an offset around 48 and rear wheel width of 8 to 8.5" - though you should be fine with 7.5".

Sure, run wider on the rear. You want to keep the radius/diameter of your tires the same as stock so the ABS computer doesn't think there's something wrong and your speedo isn't too far off. Once you settle on the width you want, you should choose a profile (aka aspect ratio: it's the percentage of the tire's with) that makes the new tire's total radius equal to the stock tire's radius. Here are some tire size calculators you can use:

no you just forgot to put a : at the end of beer...

ohhh and 7.5's are way small for the rear IMO... if you put a 245 on its gonna look like the tire is bulging out...

What size are your RFP1s? I got the 17x8 RFP1s (snow tires) from Tirerack for the rear because they said the 17x9 (17x8.5 in the recommended offset not available) would require fender rolling. Anyways, I've got 245s on 17x8's and they don't seem to bulge at all, but on 17x7.5s they might. To the OP, if you're worried about the fit, you're original choice of 205 F 235 R would be good, but I think you'd want 205/45 F 235/40 R to closer match the stock radius.

mine are 17x8 17x9 +45 all around. More than likely I'll be doing 225/45 up front 255/40 in the rear. I'm stock ride height and will be running the uk spec alignment so I dont think i'll have to roll the fenders. But since Im wanting to go lower in the future I might go ahead and roll the fenders and relocate the bumper tab anyway just so I can already have it done.

the rears are gonna need rolling for 17x9 +45 unless you keep it at stock ride height. i have the same wheel specs and once had UK spec too before i went more agressive. oh and plenty of room for 17x8 +45 with 225 without a roll.
