Icon2 IACV question

so maybe a month ago i took off my IACV on my D16y7 to only find out there wasn't a screen to be cleaned to i just scraped a bunch of the gunk that had built up on the sides and reinstalled it, and unplugged my ECU for about 10 minutes to clear the CEL code and it popped back on after like ten minutes after starting up the car. which then i just accepted the fact that i was going to have to buy a different IACV to hopefully fix the problem and just drove around with the CEL. although today after getting out of class and driving home my CEL mysteriously turned off, so after i got home i turned the car off and let it sit for ten minutes and cranked it back up and it was still off. i havent cleared the codes since that day a month or so ago because i found no reason to since the CEL was just going to come back on. so what im wondering is what do yall think the reason for it just randomly turning off could be, and has anything like this happend to anyone else? thanks in advance for any comments

Was it throwing a code back then? Is that why you pulled it off in the first place? Did you do a full clean job including the internals of the IACV (flushed with cleaning agents and the like)?

All I can guess is that the solenoid actuator is sticking every once in a while throwing a code correspondingly.

well i had bought the car whenever it was throwing a code but the owner said it was being the wires on one of the o2 sensors were frayed and so i replaced it but then the CEL didnt go so i went and got it ran at autozone and it said it had to do with my IACV and so yes the reason in taking it off was to clean it because ive read several posts where this is the case is they would just take it off clean off the screen with carb cleaner and bam it would clear it right up. in my case there wasnt a screen as mentioned before i scraped the build up off of the sides and then soaked it down in carb cleaner just incase and then put it back on.

That's normal. When replacing or removing the iacv, you're suppose to let it run idle for a while until the radiator fan turns on a couple of times to get rid of the bubbles in the system, etc. Check your coolant levels and you should be ok.
