Default ES1 EPS PROBLEM, HELP!!!!!!!

i have an es1 sedan, whenever the car starts to warm up it sqeaks whenever i turn the steering wheel left or right, extremely annoying!! anyone ever experienced the same problem or know what 2 do??????????????

where are you located? afaik, usdm es1's have hydrolic power steering.

as for the sound, can you pin point where it's coming from? is it really a squeak or a whine?

Start with a belt inspection. Make sure it's in good condition, and has proper tension.


The deflection method will probably work best for you.

Apply a force of 22lbf and measure the deflection between the power steering pump pulley and the crankshaft pulley. If the belt is worn or damaged, replace it.


Deflection:

Used belt: 13.0 - 16.5 mm (0.51 - 0.65 in.)
New belt: 9.0 - 11.0 mm (0.35 - 0.43 in.)

im in jamaica, the car is japanese. its def. not from the steering box, but its coming from both sides of the wheels i think
