Default h22 gurus step inside...

What is the difference between an obd-1 H22 and an obd-2 H22 that makes them so much different in price?

And if i decided on this swap would i have a hard time passing emissions/inspection doing an obd-2 swap in my obd-1 94 accord?

Where i came up with this question...

JDM H22 OBD-2 $1390 25,000 MILES
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/JDM-H...Q5fAccessories

JDM H22 OBD-1 $750 25,000 MILES

And whats the hp/tq rating on an H23 vtec? I would think for the same price i would rather have more liters...

Obviously one is newer........

Why on earth would you put the OBDII motor in your 94? You're making it harder on yourself. Put the OBDI motor in and be done with it, you're already OBDI.

thats what i was thinking but thats all that makes them $600-700 different?

DOHC VTEC H22A1, 190 PS
DOHC VTEC H22A4, 200 PS

so the obd-2 has 10 more hp?

Well I would suggest you search and look at the differences, someone actually made an excel spread sheet within the past month that contained ALL of the H and F information.

What would you pay for a '93 Prelude vs a '97 Prelude- essentially what you're buying is related to that.

im swapping an h22a1 into 95 ex cpe. so what r these sensors in order from right to left. im having a problem figuring out the water sensors meaning i think theres 3 on my ex harness and a 4 on the h22a1 motor. i know theres a million questions like this but if you would pm me some type of checklist with sensors i need to wire in on my harness. i just cant find anything close to my application. i figured if anyone knew it would be an h22 guru. some info, 95 ex auto i have the full harness off d series and h22a1. i think im pretty close with the wiring, theres still a few things i need to clear up. what do i do about the external coil. i dont have an internal just the stock prelude. someone please help

Why don't you read any of the number of H22 swaps in the Accord FAQ.

OBD1 has crank, cam, top dead sensor in the distributor. The OB2 has crank and top dead sensor at the crank. OBD2 computer will fire up a obd1 engine, at least mine did. Also the map sensor is in the throttle body on the obd2 vs OB1 has it on the fire wall via a hose. Both F and H are the same with the postion sensors. Go with OBD 1 vs OBD2. OBD 1 will allow for tunning. Now this is just what a dealer told me, OBD1 have better bearings. I might be wrong.

Buy the OBD1 and use a JDM internal coil dizzy... Other than lengthening the IAT sensor lead... Its a DIRECT plug in swap to the EX harness.. Including the dizzy if you use a JDM unit

Do you have a auto or manual, I was going to put a H23 in my accord just the auto was a pain to wire and I didn't use Rywire to make my auto harness I got a cut one form a car use alldata and michell to wire it From a manual OBD2 to OBD1 adapter. I have a H22a auto LSD, better option. LSDs are to much fun! The H23 never came with one or they rare.

The H23 VTEC available in the Accord Wagon had a LSD transmission

im doing an h22a (JDM) into a 94 accord LX USDM.... and the harness is being a real beetch... are you saying if i had an EX it would be like "plug-an-play" except for the IAT...????(not needing the prelude/modified accord harness; to plug it all together) the h22a came with the dizzy and ecu but no harness...

The 94 95 EX f22b1 (possibly all OBD1 id assume, but I know FOR SURE these two) use an internal coil dizzy... A INternal coil dizzy off a JDM (H22A motor) will PLUG DIRECTLY INTO the 94-95 EX harness... You only have to lengthen the IAT leads around 6- 8 inches to make them reach the side of the h manifold....

the b1 is already wired for vtec and all that ****....

make sense???

WOrked for me.
