Default Mugen s2000 whp numbers needed

Hey everyone. I have a friend that has a s2000 and he just put in some parts. I cruised around with him yesterday and the car felt really nice.

He has the following:

Injen cold air intake
Mugen headers
Mugen exhaust
clear side markers with amber bulbs

I know the side markers add about 7.85 hp to the wheels, each . What I don't know is how much the others add. We were rolling on the highway doing short pulls from 50-100. s2000, stock WRX and a pretty fast civic.

Anyone have the combination that my friend has? What sort of gains are you guys seeing? We are going to dyno it when the civic's other parts get installed but I'm curious now.

Thanks a lot guy,
Dave - who doesn't have an s2000 so he doesn't know anything about them.

Judging by the dyno sheets I've seen with those exact mods (minus the sidemarkers) about 5hp peak and as much as 8hp in the midrange if he is lucky.

He could buy a used Supercharger for the price of the Mugen Header/Exhaust. 70hp to the wheels without tuning.

The ecu is the bottleneck in the s2k, it wont allow for gains besides running forced induction. There have been owner with full mugen intake/header/exhuast and have lost power at the dyno...b/c of the ecu.

Is there a replacement ECU out on the market?

What about a chip that takes into consideration the mods that are on the car (like a unichip for the WRX)?

Thanks,
Dave

Screw chips, buy programmable ECU's. AEM PEMS or even the ghetto VAFC are much better values.

the apex vafc seems to be the best cost-effective tuning device. The mugen ecu is big bucks and isn't necessarily the best thing. The AEM EMS unit is still not finalized, many peeps have been having trouble with it.
