LEADED FUELS BAN JAN 1st 2010 IN CANADA
got an email from VP fuels and from what I understand, THIS SUCKS!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello: motor sport enthusiasts.
Hope this letter finds you all well.
This is a reminder that leaded race fuel may no longer be available as of January 1st 2010. According to federal Gasoline Regulations documents from the Department of the Environment, regulations were amended in 1994 to add a 2 1/2-year exemption for leaded gasoline imported, for use in competition vehicles.
This exemption has been extended three times, in 1997, 1998 and 2003. Then it was extended Dec. 31; 2007.This exemption will no longer be in place as of Jan. 1, 2010.
There are other factors involved with the proposed ban on leaded gas. How will it be enforced? Will there be government officials at each and every racetrack, checking the fuel cells of each race vehicle?
The document can be found on the Government of Canada website, under Canada Gazette Part 1, Dec. 22, 2007.
Please feel free to contact me at any time for further information

Bad for the environment is there main reason, even though 95% of lead fuels is consumed by the Canadian Aviation. Don't know what there trying to prove, other than see how much they can **** off the car community. Atleast I still have my Sonoco 94 in Ontario, till they take that away, lol

I tell you, my school is full of prissy VW van driving nature lovers that want to protect the environment. Changing everything in the school so its environmentally friendly and to show how "green" we are, the problem I see is that they drive to school in their broken down POS garbage vehicles then complain about all the cars on the road. When in fact it is their cars that pollute in abundance
cant win

This actually really sucks
I think the sport is going to take a big pludge up here, especially with the OSCA guys...
Can the U.S. guy's make an exception for methanol for Canadians in SFWD? Lol...

Will never happen, when they tryed a couple years back vp spent the money and proved just how much polution they created and it was so little that it will never be banned
Holy cow, by the responses here, you'd think this was the end of the world. It's been proven time and again, that there are many alternatives to leaded fuel. This is NOT new, and people should have been being preemptive. Look around guys and re tune, then relax
I tried that route,i was debating running e85 and just went to check out how much it was and see if its available and turns out its not. They wont just sell it to anybody,it has to go into a flexfuel vehicle,no gerry cans,or any other type of vehicle.
That's how we roll
hahaha-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
BTW anyone know how this is gonna be put into effect ?............... ban on importing of lead fuels for racing? or people testing at the track?.............etc
very true i tried aswell and they would'nt let me pump unles it was into a flexfuel vehicle... oh well
