what other Honda trans has a triple cone countershaft 1st??
I have a B-series crv 5spd trans in my shop that I've been playing with for years now as a backburner project
I was originally planning on swapping the mainshaft and 1st/2nd countershaft gears to get rid of the low truck 1st gear, but both 1st and 2nd on the countershaft have triple cone synchros. Is there any other trans like this that I could maybe use or should I just change it over to a normal 1st set?

actually a lot of the internals cross to h/f series stuff. Pretty much the only thing that is b-series about those is the bellhousing. They probably figured it needed to be beefier being a truck trans? Dunno why they didn't just put an f or h motor in there tho, seems it would have made it alot simpler
I'll get some pics next time I'm at the shop

Triple coned? Does that mean that it's triple synchronized or double synchronized? I'm now interested in this new type of tranny that I've never seen before.
Yeah. Do you mean a three piece synchro (minus the gear) or do you mean a triple-cone synchro? If it's just a three piece synchro, it's the typical double-cone synchronizer found on the 2nd gears. The only common Honda's that have more than a single-cone on 1st gear is some (or all - not sure) K-series.
**** now I forget... its been awhile since I was last looking at that but iirc its like the typical 2nd gear style. I'll look again next time I'm at the shop
