11.99 or lower...rollbar, or full cage?
Roll bar. Got to check the NHRA rules for bar thickness, mounting locations and material for legality. I'd say just for the full cage since someday you'll probabaly want to go faster? Also for 11.99, you need a suit.

for nhra; run in the 10's and you need a 8 point cage and a single layer jacket. Same cage if built right can run in the 8-9's...but you will need 2 layer pants and jacket, gloves, neck collar brace and of course the helmet.

you can run a bolt in roll bar as long its proper size wall thickness and you have the proper plates at the bottom in the car and under the car and proper size bolts.
5 point roll bar
fire jacket
clutch scatter shield
5 point harness
Damn, 1 other thing, but I forgot what it was. I know there's 5 things needed. They bitched me out at the track cuz I didn't have it.

Hey terry, when u think of that 5th thing, let me know, so i dont end up fighting with the guys at etown, ill toss em after they toss me, and btw, i want yer, err, my harness back,
Im asking because i want to keep my rear interior and it would be a bitch for the passengers to go in and out. Will it pass if it's removable... like the cross beam on the driver side?

If you want to take rear seat passengers, don't install any bar/cage or get a tow vehicle with 4 seats.
Hey , i run a bolt in cage for now, and im sure im going to dip into the 11's, therefore, i was wondering what steps (for now) should i take to ensure safety and legality at the track, do i need plates underneath the chassis also? do i need anythign else? if anybodys got any info, lemme now thanks
I
Rear passengers is not a valid option if you have a rollbar. Even without the harness bar and diag. brace you still have the main hoop and rear supports and the potential to injure rear seat passengers in any sort of collision is greatly, greatly increased.

I don't think he's saying a roll cage is not safe. Maybe he's refering to what could happen to a driver or driver's on a daily driven car. For example, my friend from Viking Motorsports (Porsche shop) does not recommened any of there daily driven cars to have roll cages due to any impact that occurs where the driver is not wearing a helmet! He said it's happened, and without a helmet your head could easily slam into the bar coming down the drivers side. And yes you could get padding for the bars, but will that completly make it safe?
yes i think that may be the 5th thing. and also, Mike Stated earlier you need an 8 pt to run in the 10's? i thought it was a 5pt to run in the 10's, and an 8pt to run in the 9's???
