Does the stock DX Coupe have sufficient power to at least be a fun to drive car until i get mod money. With its 102 hp does it have the power to cruise easily on the Interstate, or chirp the tires at a stoplight. Im poor as **** and im going to be clean broke after I spend my money wad on this car? Will this DX at least be a fun car to drive while its still stock?? I ask you because you guys have the experience. I have big plans for the little DX... but I wont have the BeNjAmInS for quite a while.

 

yes. i've been very happy with my practically stock dx. it can't compete with my friends' modded cars, but mine uses less gas and is still a fun drive

 

my dx is okay to drive, and the d15 will be in there forever

i have a 93 dx hatch and i always have fun driving it. i've only done like three mods and i've beaten the civic si coupes before and an integra with a b16a1. i think its a fun car to play with until my swap comes next year hopefully.

so the stock DX can still have some nice high RPM roars? and its "zippy" if you will around town.

 

I have a he!! of a time with my CX, same as DX. It ain't the fastest thing, I love drive it period. I love my CX now. Driving any Honda to me is a blast

if you are poor i suggest you save your money. i personally wouldnt spend cash on my stock DX. a DX with a stock b16 would still be fun to drive. bottom line...save your banjamins!!!

 

the 99-00 si with exhaust and probably an intake was pretty much no problem.

the integra had an exhaust an intake with a b16a1. now he was right on my
back bumper and passed me at 91 mph. i called the race to be over at 85 mph though, so that = my win.

i have a 93 dx hatch with a crx si cam in it, aem adjustable cam gear (advanced 2 degrees), and i also have a d16z6 tranny. my car only has the front two seats. the back of the hatch just has carpet with everything else taken out. if you don't beleive me, then thats your perogative, but its the truth. don't forget that my hatch is also lighter than these other cars also. there are more mods to come for my dx, and all i'm doing is using stock parts of other civics to make my **** faster.

oh yeah, without any of these three mods that i did, the car hit a 16 flat at the track.

damn a 9.5 in the 1/8 with a dx. I need slicks. I ran a 9.9 with a b16 in a dx w/stock exhaust 13s, and stock suspension. Thats one quick dx

 

I have a 93 del Sol S with a 1.5l SOHC NON-VTEC motor. It sure in the **** isn't quick...but it is fun as **** to drive. Chirping tires can be done on ANY MOTOR...just throw some shitty tires on there and you'll be set.

I was considering swaping my motor, but honnestly,...it just aint worth it. This is my daily driver. It gets great gas mileage and gets me to and from work without any probs.

the DX's are not fast.....they are not quick.....but yes they are fun cars to drive

 

chirping tires at the light is no problem if ur clutch is good. my 96 DX chirped 2nd easy.

why dont u go test drive one for yourself at a honda dealer and then make your decision. I would at least get an EX because it has AC, pwr windows and other luxures. and a bit more ponies.

 

Chirping tires doesn't really mean anything. I have chirped third on more than one occasion in my EX. Does that mean my car is fast? No. Just means the tires suck.

The DX actually is a better engine with 16 valves, while the CX only has 8 valves.
