Default Brian crower B-Series boosted cams

I am close to the end of my build for now and I am thinking of some web rollers. But in the mean time I need some temporary ones in there. I did a search on the Brian Crower B series stage 2 but only found info on the H and K.

Has anyone tried their stage 2 forced induction cams and what did you make with your setup. Or list the cons or problem you had with them.

Here is the info on them

http://briancrower.com/makes/honda/b16ab18c.shtml

Yes I could get a set of type-r for about the same cost used. yes there are other cams but i dont know anything much about these. (Information is the best modification in my car (T.R.))

I ran them for the begining of the season and was not impressed with them, then I changed over to the pro 1s and made aprox 40whp more with just droping them in. I could not even sell them , only got $200 out of them and were pretty much new. I would say do not waist your money on them. My .02

If your serious about HP, you should be talking to and buying from Tony1.

I dynoed on type r's with S372 top mount and made great power I believe it was 739whp @34psi its been a while so don't quote me. Then I wanted more power becuse I'm a power boost junkie and love to know its there!,,,,,,,,Replaced type R's for pro1's and yes made 806whp blowing my tires off dyno at T1. I'm also considering rollers from web as I see more results from Tonys car as he runs his new set up!
I still got Type r's for sale Ric.

I have the BC LS cams. Went from 426ish whp to 461whp but changed the intercooler and fuel also so I can't determine what I gained from them. Same 27psi.

we tried it about 3 years ago on our Red hatch and we were not impressed with them switched to Pro 1 from Skunk2 and WOW

the Pro 1's made 23whp more up top but around 6000rpm 80 more WHP... The Pro 1's help the turbo spool Up the turbo a lot sooner it is the way Skunk2 does their cam ramp...

Skunk2 Rock

We have BC Turbo Cams in the civic that I am helping out with. They seem to be working, the car made good power at modest boost levels. Remember that the Pro1s can break too.

Can you elaborate on the Pro1's breaking.... I'm using CTR and hesitating to change due to that exact reason. I've never seen a CTR cam literally break and trust it 100%. Would love to upgrade for 2010. Any thoughts! Good discussion!

I could be wrong, but I thought that is what happened to Tony at Pinks All Out Rockingham, and thus why he switched over to the Web roller rocker setup. Like I said, I could be wrong on that.

^ They did break, and so did a set of our pro1s at the track 2 weeks ago... Skunk wouldnt refund or replace them without a purchase receipt, so we went ahead and switched to BC... seem to work as good if not better..

I mean I have seen all brand of cams break. Jun's Skunk2 Crowers and I have seen regrinds get flat spots. As drag racers we are pushing parts to the extreme limts nothing is fail safe. I do however believe in the billet cams Tony is running and interested to see how those hold up.

I'll tell you what I bought 3 sets of crowers back when they first came out and 2of the3 broke. Now I know it's was back then and they revamped them. But when I told them about what happen the totally plyed stupid like they never heard about then breaking meanwhile I my self seen multiple threads on others breaking. So just for that reason I would never purchase another crower product if it worked or didn't.

saw a set of bc cam gear timing marks marked way wrong/off. customer brought it and we installed it. car idled like crap. put back stock gears..and found out timing marks were WAY off. We refuse to use BC....

I'm looking for 9.5-10K rpm cams that will wake my powerband up earlier. With CTR cams it's very sluggish to wake up the turbo and I really have to whine the rpms up to keep power up. Looking to broaden powerband.

For now I'll just use CTR and see how everyone does with roller webs. ;-)
