Default Quietest exhaust?

im shopping for a catback exhaust for my 00 SH . However my first priority is the loudness factor. What catbacks are the quiestest on the market compared to the rest?

The Apexi WS, as far as I know, is hands down the quietest aftermarket exhaust.

Agreed, the Apexii WS is by far the quietest...a little too quiet for my taste.

I heard that the Mugen exhaust system is the quietest one and also give you the most horsepower gain than most aftermarket exhaust system out there but I'm not so sure. I'm actually asking around for that exhaust system too since I have a Mugen header for my Prelude but still have a stock exhaust system. I want power gain without noise. Noise just create attention to cops and others, plus it's really annoying when you drive home from work or a long highway drive which is what I do pretty often with my car.

Apexi WS is the quietest. I don't think I would consider anything else out there 'quiet'. But that is a relative term and everybody has differences in what they think is quiet.

Tanabe G-Power/Hyper are both pretty quiet too... Intake noise always drowned out the exhaust note of my G-Power on my 97.

Any exhaust + turbo= quiet

Just turbocharge it.

No way is the Tanabe DTM in the same category as the G-Power/Hyper... It is much louder/deeper. I've heard them side by side.

i agree the apexi ws.

some other choices that are fairly quiet would be an R*SR exhaust or a GReddy exhaust.

peace

A'PEXi WS is definitely very quiet because I heard it on a my friend's Mazda Miata and Honda Accord but I don't really like the look. It looks too big, but that's just my opinion though. I'm not really into those flashy looking big tip exhaust system, so far I really like the look of the Mugen exhaust system, very simple and not flashy at all.

WS is old school style, which I love. So is the GReddy SP, but the tip is funky as hell. My WS is painted flat black with high temp engine paint. It's held up for about 10,000 miles and the paint hasn't come off. It's definitely quiet, but audible inside and outside the car up to about 3000-3500rpm. After that, the engine noise and intake drown out the sound. At WOT, the WS is quieter at WOT than almost any other aftermarket exhaust I have heard also at WOT, and I have heard many at WOT. It's a great buy, only thing is it's chambered so if you are going for max power, this isn't the exhaust for you.

Probably won't get many replies to this one, but i'm gonna try anyways! Which one do you guys think has the best perfomance out of the quieter exhausts??

I would also like to get as quiet as an exhaust as possible, but without sacrificing too much performance!

I know some people say the dc exhaust is quiet, but i don't think it's that quiet! It's not nearly as loud as some exhausts but i can still hear it from a block away!

How about the ITR exhaust, it's really quiet, i know it has nothing to do with preludes, but is that a efficiant exhaust or is it sitll very restrictive? sorry for the long post!

My friend had an Apexii WS in his car and I guarantee to you that it's the quietest out there for the Lude by far.

Haven't heard the other exhausts, but I can tell you that the Mugen exhaust is pretty darn quiet (this is what I have ) You can't hear it at all when you're cruising but when you get deeper on the throttle, it gives you the most beautiful exhaust note.

I can get you guys samples if you want...just let me know. But the quality may be kind of bleh cuz I'll have to my still camera to get the videos (Canon S40).

Wow, that Mugen exhaust system sounds perfect for me based on what you describe. If you can give the sample, it'll be great. I have a Mugen header in my car. Based on my experience, adding an aftermarker performance header will make the exhaust tone louder though.

I know for sure there are Mugen header, exhaust system, suspension kit, and aero kit for all Preludes except for the first generation. Call King Motorsports and find out because I heard that Mugen discontinued the parts for Prelude except for the 5th generation. Call them to find out for sure.
