Default High rpm issues

I have a 91 integra with a ls, its got a built head, crower cams, skunk 2 intake mani port matched to gsr TB, full exhaust, bla bla. Its still got the stock ls computer, not tuned, trying to make sure this is a problem that will be solved in the tune before i take it.

The car runs okay when i advance the distributor timing all the way when i slightly set it at anything but fully advanced the car has a slow acceleration and just seems very slow to rev, it also seems like it cuts up a little bellow 3 grand. When i advance it all the way it runs okay all the way to 5 and just falls on its face like its not getting enough fuel. im %99 it is in time (going to pull the crank pulley tomorrow and check oil pump mark) but what else could this be, i really want to figure this out before i shell out money on things i dont need.

are you jumping your service connector thingie when messing with the timing? you should put the timing back to midway, reset your ecu, let the car warm up for about 15-20 minutes, jupm your service connector, and mess with the ignition timing then. make sure that your mecanical timing is correct and that you get your timing belt slack out to spec. you should also go on g2ic and look at the tegtip pertaining to timing.

all that stuff i suggested should be done to at least rule any other weird problems out. if it still does that after you got the ecu and the timing somewhat set, then it probably has to do with tuning or lack of.

i stuck my chipped b16 computer in the car (getting it tuned with ls map) and it ran okay down low, so i think the tune will fix it, thanks.

Is it all LS or LS-vtec? If its ls and the car ran fine before all of the head upgrades it should run fine now. Being that you said it runs fine w/ a B16 computer(has more aggressive timing maps), it sounds line the engine timing is slighty retarded(timing belt is mis-aligned a few teeth). Double check all of your timing marks at TDC and make sure it's exactly right. If its Ls-vtec then yeah you should be running a vtec computer for sure.
Also, what else are you running with all of this? Fpr? Fuel Pump(190gph)? Plugs?
And although you don't "have" to have it for this set up, I would highly suggest hondata for more pow-a! good luck!
