New throttle body and Intake manifold worth the money?
Hey guy, I have a 96 accord with a 98 h22a swap and was thinking about getting a new higher flow throttle body and a new intake manifold when the skunk2 or something comes out for the h22a. Is it worth the money for what you get though? I have no experience with these two parts. Also, is the high flow cat worth it? Is it still legal?
Thanks guys
Thanks guys
definately worth the money. the skunk2 intake manifold will supposedly yield 8-15hp to the wheels and it should be arround the $300 range. the problem is we wont be seeing it till 2003 at the earliest. as for the throttle body, i think people say they feel a difference with an overbored throttle body, but its always better to have the bore match the intake manifold as well. so get them both done at the same time.

Thanks for the info, is it necessary to have the same diameter intake as well? Im still using my accord AEM CAI on the H22a which i believe is 2.5" whereas the lude one is 3". Sould I invest in that as well? Its kind of hard for me to justify buying another CAI, but if its worth it, then alright.
i take what i said back. From Tuan:
"Large plenums prefer smaller diameter TB's and runners to maintain air flow velocity.
Small plenums prefer larger diameter TB's and runners to obtain more air flow capacity or air flow volume."
so it all depends on the plenum size of the skunk2 manifold, which we dont know yet.
