recently installed a JDM ITR tranny with LSD with 4.785FD and i noticed that it makes a slight whining noise when i accelerate, more noticible in 1st and 2nd gear at low speeds. sound is similar to when u put the car in reverse just not as loud. is this normal?

 

Not with the OEM 4.785 FD. If its not an OEM FD, just depends on how loud it is.

I've never heard a helical LSD whine, is the FD OEM or aftermarket?
