Default HOW DO I LOWER MY HYDROCARBONS

Hey its california and we got SMOG. I did smog and my HYDROCARBONS were a bit high. how can I lower them? btw I got a 95 hatch/95gsr with no mods. I will get brand new plugs and my wires and cap are still good. I got a stock gsr cat but how can I tell its still good? maybe face it against the sun and see if I see light coming thru it?

thanks guys

Hydrocarbon is caused by unburned fuel, i think spark plugs, wires and the cap is a good start.

Maybe run a wideband O2 sensor, chip the ecu, and tune your fuel mixture (if your into all that stuff).

thanks but I did that like 2 years ago its probably my cat. I had a new but very cheap cat installed 2 years ago and I passed smog with it and was killing it for the past 2 years. I think the cat is done. I got a oem gsr cat but a used one but you can still se light through it so i'll see

The gsr cat should be good, I would also check timing just to be safe.
