Going down the road tonight my radio, speedometer, tach, and water temp gauge all hit bottom as if the car were off. They stayed off long enough to here the beeping as if you parked and took the key out. But the car didnt die it didnt act funny or anything. the gauge panel back light stayed on though. I could only guess a loose ground or something. Has this happened to any1 else? what was the problem?

 

what year car. There are some different symptoms for different years

 

Is your battery good? Might be your alternator not charging the battery.

 

his car wouldnt stay running....wow. Its more than likely the backup fuse or a ground. If its a 96 is probably the clip behind the motor. rubbing and grounding out

 

this happened to me in my coupe it ended up being my alternator plug. the clip was broken and wouldnt stay on when it lossened up enough my dash would die but the car would still run but wasnt charging which i found out the hard way.

 

its a 92'. I checked the battery when the car is off is 12v and checked it when its on its still about 12v-12.2 actually. I dont know ima have to check it out during the daytime after work. I dont know what the deal is yet but thanks for the suggestions
