1999 Civic Si Suspension Setups?
Hey guys, i just picked up a stock 1999 si and im having trouble choosing a suspension set up. This car is my DD but i also want something i could take up to these canyons for some spirited driving. So any suggestions would be great..coilovers, sway bars, etc. the whole thing.
It really depends on your budget, but try to make your budget higher.
I've got a 2000 Si. I had KYB/GC (375f/300r) setup with the OEM sway bars. It was okay until I lowered the car to close the fender gap and the KYB's blew shortly after that. If kept at stock height I think the KYB's are a good DD strut.
I also changed out the rear sway bar to the 22mm CTR prior to lowering the car on KYB's. That alone changed up the way the car felt in spirited turns. Much more compliance between front and rear with good natural rotation from the rear.
I then upgraded to the Koni/GC (400f/450r) and this was a great choice. Much better control and feel of the car overall compared to the KYB's. I still have my car lowered to meet the wheel and fender and it autoxes very well.
I would suggest for just a DD and spirited canyon runs a Koni/GC setup (400f/300-400r), rear subframe brace, 22 CTR sway bar (it directly bolts to our endlinks), an alignment and let her rip. The camber will be good and not too aggressive. Just be sure to get your toe centered as possible.

I'm selling my old GC setup that I used on the KYB shocks. They'll be great for your DD setup. 375f/300r. I could get stupid low with these on the KYB's, but those shocks don't like to be lowered too much. Hit me up.
I drive 22 miles one way to work everyday and I just installed Buddy Club n+ coilovers ($760). I have it on the softest setting and so far i'm loving the ride.
