Hood latched ripped off (2002 Civic)
Car: 2002 Honda Civic DX Sedan
Long story short; blowout tire = yanked hood cable = hood latch assembly ripped off sheet metal, i.e., the bolts were still attached.
I'm trying to get creative here. If I were a nice car owner I'd get the whole metal frame part from a junkyard and weld in a whole new piece.
But I'm not going to do that. Does anyone have any suggestions. I'm curious what are some options.
Right now there is no metal for the bolts to attach the hood latch assembly to the car because it was ripped apart.
I don't own a welder. I do have a neighbor who has offered to weld so don't let it limit your suggestions.
Thanks for your help.
