ARE STAGE 3 CAMS TOO MUCH FOR ALL MOTOR?
ALRIGHT SO I GOT A B20Z(HIGH COMP) FOR RIGHT NOW.NEXT MONTH I WILL BE PUTTING ON A GSR HEAD.I ALSO WANT TO PUT ON CAMS,CAM GEARS,AND A INTAKE MANIFOLD..ALL BY SKUNK2 ALL PRO SERIES...I WANT STAGE 3 PRO SERIES CAMS BUT SOMEONE TOLD ME STAGE 3 IS ONLY GOOD FOR TURBO..I'M GOING ALL MOTOR...IS THAT TRUE???????
PLUS WHAT ECU WOULD BE BEST FOR MY FRANKENSTIN????P72...???

Well IIRC, pro2's are on a very thin line of being too much for a turbo setup, so the pro3's would definitely not be good for one..lol. Anyway, you'd be better off searching for your answer in the all motor forum. You shouldn't just decide you want the stage 3's unless you actually have enough compression and headwork to take advantage of them.

ahh the guys are going to give u hell for posting a n/a question in the f/i forum..but i feel like being nice. 1st off, whoever told u that pro 3's are only good for turbo is WRONG. as a matter of fact, they are too aggressive for f/i setups! they can be too much of a cam for all motor aswell if u dont have enough compression!! what exactly is your c/r (compression ratio?)
If you plan on buying most of your stuff from Skunk2, CALL THEM. They certainly know a little about all motor set-ups and can send you down the right (and expensive) path. It isn't all about just buying the best stuff, combination has alot to do with it. Again, call skunk

my compression ratio is 10.2:1
maybe you you have enough piston to valve clearance with those stock pistons and the vtec with cams. i'm not familiar with the stock b20 reliefs. i dont know how close you are to some of the shops in CA but they should be able to help you. it sounds like you have a lot to figure out.

Yup . . .
Ok so the motor isnt big enough, you dont have enough compression and the valve reliefs wont be deep enough to run pro3s . .
Skunk will even most likely tell you not to run pro2s on stock valve reliefs. .

Do not use the Pro Series stage 3 for your setup...
Use the Tuner Stage 3, they work amazing with the setup you have..
Make sure you do springs and retainers with this setup... and if you decide to go turbo later on they will work beautifull as well....
Skunk2 Rocks...

with stock pistons...why not run CTR or ITR cams...10:2 is nothing. CTR/ITRs will work wonders. stage anything will be overkill. My boy runs ctr cams and pistons in a stock b16 and ran 11.99 in a gutted out CRX with some fiberglass parts.
judging by your question you do not want to think about pro3's..
tuner series stage 3's are large too and will require larger reliefs.. the vtec lobe in these are not much smaller than the pro3's they just have close to stock primaries..
they both need to be degreed in by a builder..
in this area you cant just jump in and start with the biggest made you need to aquire some exp first..
you need to start with something small like stage 1 tuner series..
actually a set of crower 402's would work well..

a stage 1 tuner series is pretty much like CTR and the Crower cams are known to snap in two....
