H22 OBDII swap people, have an ECU question for you
For the people that have swapped an H22 into their 96 or newer Accords, were you able to run the factory ECU and have the engine work without and CEL light? I'm thinking of doing the swap on my 97 but I live in VA where there is a plug in emissions test where they plug it into the OBDII port, if you don't have a CEL light on it passes.
Any help or info you guys have on this would be appreciated, thanks.

We have a plug in emissions test? You must be Northern VA... I think they do.
You need the OBDII P13 ecu - only one that's OBDII without an immobilizer. If you run an OBDI ECU you won't have a CEL (if everything is fine) but the OBDII port will report no communication - that was enough for the buyer of my car to register in Arizona (similar testing).
I'd imagine running the stock ecu would run you in limp mode but I"m unsure on having a CEL.
